Sticking it to the man
I just called Comcast because we are one of those mythical cord-cutting households. We have Netflix and a laptop hooked up to the Vizio w/ Hulu…not a big need for Comcast cable tv (except for the game tonight which we can get on justin.tv or similar if they disconnect us right away).

Anyway, the main point of this post is that the guy in the Comcast cancelation department clearly enjoyed “sticking it to the man” not only canceling our cable tv, but also giving us a 6 month promo on our internet dropping our bill from $110/month to $40/month.
“When
youryou’re coming up on the end of your 6 month promo just call this number back and tell them you are going to cancel…we’ll just get you another promo.” - Comcast cancellation rep.
Comcast has gotta be hurting w/ content delivery disintermediation (good idea buying NBC btw), so I think now more than ever I’d have my reps selling instead of “sticking it to me”.
Oh well, it worked out great for us.
